Empires hang in the balance as Queen Victoria’s daughter, Vicky, and German Chancellor Bismark wreak personal and political havoc in “Blood and Iron.” Local playwright Richard Carter’s darkly humorous spy thriller is a wonderful companion to “Richard III.” The play’s rich language, classical themes and intelligent characters make for compelling historical drama – not to mention a wicked game of cat-and-mouse for audiences to enjoy.
