Production Effects

Seattle Shakespeare Company does offer production effect warnings whenever possible, but significantly when these effects may negatively affect or harm patrons with disabilities. If you have specific questions about production effects for a production you are attending, please email us for assistance, and we will be happy to answer all of your questions.

These warnings may include, but are not limited to:

  • Strobing lights
  • Flashes of light
  • Smoke
  • Fog
  • Haze
  • Smoking of any kind
  • Loud sounds or music
  • Extended periods of loud sounds or music
  • Smells or scents introduced into the audience area
  • Gunshots

Content Warnings

Those shared moments that an audience experiences together are what theatre is about. Seattle Shakespeare Company strives to honor our artists’ intent regarding their work. Classical work is filled with life-or-death stakes that take place in a great many ways. While it’s not possible to account for all potential content triggers, we list production-specific content warnings on each production web page.
