Free Teacher Previews (Student Matinees)

All teachers are invited to a preview performance before bringing students to attend a matinee, and connect with our education staff about upcoming opportunities.

To reserve a space at one of our upcoming teacher previews, please email us your name, school, and how many seats you would like (up to 2). Deadline for reserving seats is the Monday before the preview.

Study Guides

In preparation for student matinee and touring performances, teachers are provided a study guide for the production. Seattle Shakespeare study guides include a synopsis, background information on the play, insight to our particular presentation of the play, and activities that students can do in class. These are a great resource for increasing student understanding of the play, both before and after attending a performance.

Free Talk-Backs

We are delighted to offer free talk-backs for all student matinee performances! All schools are invited to stay for a 15-20 minute Q&A with the actors after the show.

Pre-Show and Accompanying Workshops, $100

Valuable interactive workshops enhance students’  experience for both touring performances and student matinees. A professional teaching artist uses the language of the play to get students on their feet and using Shakespeare’s words to gain a better understanding of the language, themes, action, and characters before they see the play. Workshops are $100 for each 1-hour class period.

Extended in-school residencies are available. To learn more about curriculum models and funding, please see our residency page.
