Synposis

Long ago and only yesterday, somewhere, warlords are continually feuding, laying waste the land. A king holds on to his office by the power of his sword, while all around him, one tribe destroys another. A man is a “warrior.” And chief among them is fierce Macbeth.

When the play opens, we see a stunning contest of prowess and swordsmanship. A pride of war chieftans are competing for primacy. Macbeth’s exultation is to be short-lived. He has infuriated the shamans (our New World version the “weird sisters”) whose domain is the natural order of the world. Wearing ritual garb and masks, they cast a curse-spell on this ruthless warrior–unbeknownst to him. He must be stopped. And by his own hand.

Triumphant in yet another crucial battle, he is headed homeward to his wife, Lady Macbeth, when he is lured off his course by strange sounds and stranger sights. Now, the shamans appear to him and his second, Banquo, delivering their tantalizing and enigmatic prophesies, ripe with portents for both men . . .
