On Playing Shakespeare with David Quicksall

Bollingbroke, Don Pedro, Brutus, Autolycus, Petruchio, Don Armado. This is just a partial list of the characters that David Quicksall has played for Seattle Shakespeare Company. It’s quite a wide range, and David has directed our productions of The Tempest and Coriolanus. He’s returning to a favorite role, Petruchio, in our revival of the Wooden O production of The Taming of the Shrew. Turn on the sound and take a listen to what David has to say about performing Shakespeare.

My rediscovery of live Shakespeare after a far-too-long hiatus started with Wooden O and free Shakespeare in the parks, and I was immediately hooked, becoming a Seattle Shakespeare season subscriber and enthusiastic supporter. WO/SS is one of the finest producers of live Shakespeare on the West Coast, IMHO, and kudos to George Mount for making it happen. David is one of my favorite WO/SS actors—his range of roles and absolutely compelling performances knock me out! You rock, David! Go, Petruchio!

David Q is an amazing artist no matter what part he’s playing. I’d pay to see a play I’m not really fond of, just to see him perform. Thank you for some truly amazing experiences.
