Jon Kretzu in rehearsal

Director Jon Kretzu in rehearsal for “Love’s Labour’s Lost.”

In order to create the world of Love’s Labour’s Lost, director Jon Kretzu drew upon the music and culture of the late 1920s. He likens that period of time to being a “dreamlike period and people were living in a dream before reality sort of crashed down of them.” Listen to Jon as he talks about the music of Cole Porter, the artwork of Cecil Beaton, the film Brideshead Revisted and so much more that he used to establish the setting for Seattle Shakespeare Company’s production of Love’s Labour’s Lost.
