Artistic Team Biographies

Gregg Loughridge (Director)

SSC: Debut

Gregg has been working as a visual storyteller for the last 20 years; first as a professional actor, then a playwright/ director, and then as a designer and producer of video and interactive media. Starting with his play Virtus (the award-winning musical that premiered here in Seattle in 1990 and explored the foibles of contemporary manhood by using sports metaphors, stage combat and a cappella vocal music) through his one man show Full Contact Shakespeare (which combined classical theater text with improvisational theater techniques to perform entire scenes from Shakespeare’s plays with “volunteers” pulled from the audience) to his latest works, such as Puer Pan (that explores midlife crises themes by integrating live performers with DVD digital shadow projections), Gregg continues to explore ways to draw audiences more actively into the storytelling process. His virtual studio, Small Epics, operates out of the Seattle area where he lives with two cats, Frances Kenny, and a lot of old computers.
